Hours: Various contracts available to cover Monday to Friday with flexibility to meet business needs. Usually 6 hours per days on a term-time only contact. Maximum of 30 hours a week.

Salary: £10,959.30 per annum for 30 hour working week (£17,142.84 per annum pro rata) Salary will depend on each candidates hours.

Job Purpose: Providing support under the guidance of the teacher to students in classrooms, workshops and other vocational settings and support students in the Learning Resource Centre to support teaching and learning.

Vision: For this role, we are looking to appoint flexible and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants who can provide 1:1 group and communication support to young learners ages 16 years plus across the college. A sympathetic approach to learners with physical, behavioural and/or learning disability is essential. You will have good literacy, numeracy and communication skills. Possession of a Level 3 Teaching and Supporting Learning qualification is desirable and knowledge of ICT would be an advantage.

We are a land-based college and our learners undertake practical sessions as well as classroom based theory learning. The ideal candidates will need to have an adaptable approach to assist with activities outside of the classroom. This can involve working with Animals, on a construction site, in the blacksmithing workshop, in the gardens or joining outdoor education during a fitness session. Experience with animals, floristry, construction, agriculture, horticulture or outdoor education is desirable but not essential.

Status: Permanent and Term Time only. This is a term-time only appointment for 36 working weeks. Payment is for 41 weeks.
